Alchemilla began in 2012 as casual experiments in adornment. I have no formal training in any kind of jewelry design. My first pieces were explorations in scrimshaw (carving & drawing into bone, shell & bark), leather & gold stamping, amulets crafted out of shell, glass, fur and natural pieces from my collections. friends taught me how to bead weave, how to solder, how to work with plyers & other basic tools that could be bought cheaply from any hardware store or borrowed. i began playing and teaching myself different techniques. the rest has been intuition, you-tube how-tos, trial & error and fun.
